Background

Under the Redevelopment Act, as amended, the CRA’s annual budget may provide for the payment of administrative and overhead expenses directly or indirectly necessary to implement the Redevelopment Plans adopted by the CRA. The Services Agreement between the CRA and the City of Tampa for Fiscal Year 2027 is intended to amend, supersede, and replace any prior agreement for services between the parties, and its approval thereof is in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Tampa.

Background

On or about November 14, 2024, the CRA board adopted CRA Resolution No. 2024-23 approving an “Agreement for the Provision of Legal Services” between the CRA and the Firm (the “Agreement”). Article II, Section A of the Agreement provides that the term of the Agreement is initially one (1) year but that the term of the Agreement may be extended, with the approval of the CRA Board, for up to a maximum of four (4) additional one (1) terms (for a maximum term of five (5) years) provided that such “Extensions” of the Agreement are in writing and executed by both the Firm and the Chair of the CRA Board (upon approval of the CRA Board); The CRA Board and Firm exercised the option to extend the Agreement by executing Extension No. 1 pursuant to CRA Resolution 2025-18 (“Extension No. 1”), adopted on September 11, 2025, and the term of said Agreement was for one (1) additional year that commenced on October 1, 2026, pursuant to the Extension No. 1.
