Community Sponsorship

Put your business in front of the slice of Tampa that follows City Hall closely. One sponsor at a time.

Tampa Monitor covers what’s actually happening at Tampa City Hall — council votes, land use, budgets, capital projects — on the web and in a weekly newsletter.

Nobody stumbles here by accident. Readers come to check what a parcel is zoned, or to read Thursday’s agenda before the vote. It’s a small audience by mass-media standards. It’s also the slice of Tampa that follows city government closest, including the people whose work depends on it.

Who’s Reading

What readers come for, week after week:

  • The Tampa Land-Use Map — zoning and future land use, parcel by parcel
  • Council agendas and previews — read before the meeting, not after
  • Capital projects — where the infrastructure money goes

Homeowners with a rezoning on their block. Buyers doing their homework. And the attorneys, engineers, planners, and brokers whose day job runs through City Hall.

What Sponsorship Is (and Isn’t)

Sponsorship here is presence. Your name on independent City Hall coverage, seen by the people who follow it closest.

It is not a click machine. If you need ads measured in conversions, larger platforms do that better and I’ll tell you so. You get reach, and the association with coverage this audience already trusts.

Every sponsorship is clearly labeled, and sponsors have no input on coverage. That independence is what makes the association worth having.

Options

Site Sponsor — $150/month, three-month minimum

Exclusive placement on the home page, every article, and full-width pages, except tools that have their own patron. Text with a link, or a 300×250 image. One sponsor at a time.

Newsletter Sponsor — $50/issue

A mention at the top of that week’s issue, in front of subscribers who open at rates well above industry average. Good for an event or anything with a date on it.

Community Sponsor — $250/month

The full package, and the only one that carries the Tampa Monitor Community Sponsor name: the site slot plus every newsletter issue that month.

Tool Patronage — $300/quarter

Your firm’s name on a tool this audience actually uses: “The Tampa Land-Use Map is presented by ___.” You get the sponsor slot on that tool’s page plus a presented-by credit on the tool itself, and a patroned page carries no other sponsor’s name. Available for the land-use map and the capital-projects tracker, one patron per tool. A natural fit for title companies, engineering firms, and land-use practices.

Who’s a Fit

Great fit: land-use and zoning attorneys, title companies, civil engineering and planning firms, realtors and brokers who work investors and development, contractors, credit unions and community banks. Firms whose work runs through what the coverage covers.

Also welcome: community organizations, nonprofits serving Tampa, and any local business that wants to visibly back independent coverage — as long as you’re expecting presence rather than foot traffic.

Not a fit: national brands, political advertising, anything that conflicts with editorial independence, businesses outside Tampa.

The message we agree on is the message that runs. If you want to promote a different business or offer down the road, that starts a new conversation.

How You’ll Know It’s Working

Every sponsor gets a short monthly report: pageviews, newsletter sends and opens, and what ran that month. The traffic numbers are bot-filtered — most analytics quietly count automated traffic, and I strip it out, so what you see is actual people. Fewer, honest numbers beat big, inflated ones.

Want a trackable link or a promo code? Happy to set one up. But the yardstick here is reach, and I’d rather say that now than surprise you in month three.

Questions

Can I change my message? On the site, up to twice a month at no charge. For the newsletter, send copy before each issue.

Can I try one newsletter issue? Yes. One issue is $50 and you’re done.

Why the three-month minimum on the site slot? A month is too short for anyone to notice a new name. Three months is a fair test.
