Financial impact

This resolution provides for a grant funding agreement between the Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Tampa and the Jackson House Foundation, Inc. to renovate and restore the Jackson House Museum in the amount of $1,000,000 within the Community Redevelopment Agency CRA Non-Core Fund.

Background

On April 9, 2026, the Community Redevelopment Agency approved supporting the renovations of the historic Jackson House project in the amount of $1 million over a one-year fiscal period. Expected enhancements to the community through this project include repairs to the foundation, roof, walls, and floors, with careful attention to the historically appropriate materials, including brickwork and period-accurate colors.

Multi-District (CP,CD,DT,TH) Wayfinding Program Change - The Multi-District Wayfinding Project was initiated to improve navigation, enhance the visitor experience, and establish a consistent identity across participating districts. Project planning and design have been completed, and the next phase involves the fabrication and installation of the approved wayfinding signage system.

CRA staff to report on a proposed estimate budget for the renovation and expansion of Station 1 and necessary equipment; and a proposed amendment and budget that could be presented to the county for approval.
